Summer Landscape With Rainbow

Short summer storms during the daylight are quite bad for lightning photography (unless you have big luck or special tools), but provide lot of opportunities to photograph incoming storm structures or rainbows.

This is rainbow nicely placed on the dark cloudy background with sunlit landscape. Good angle is crucial to have the light and stormy clouds aligned to achieve dramatic colors.

Night Storm

Despite the fact that I did a lot of lightning photos, I’m not an active stormchaser. I’m a passive storm photographer and I simply wait for random storms coming to me. Thus I very rarely see the storm coming from the distance.

This time I got lucky and there was a very active thunderstorm, nicely visible from the distance (about 30 kilometers). The final photo is a stack of 5 photos per 60 seconds = 5 minutes exposure in total.
